“A new study published in the World Health Organisation Journal, Public Health Panorama, has revealed a clear link between exposure to contaminated air supplies and acute and chronic adverse effects in aircrew.
Concerns for the adverse health effects experienced by aircrew who have been exposed to contaminated air has long been a concern in the industry. When unfiltered breathing air is supplied to the cabin via the engine compressors (referred to as bleed air), there is the risk that oil leaking over the oil seals may contaminate the cabin air supply.” (source)
