A. Aerotoxic is an internationally censored medical term which identifies serious illness of both aircrew and passengers caused after exposure to contaminated cabin air in commercial jet aircraft and was defined in 1999 by scientists from US, France & Australia.
B. The ‘A’ word is banned by the BBC and most public broadcasting media and governments – it is therefore still unknown to most politicians, aircrew and passengers.
C. Human exposure to Organophosphates (OP’s) are universally known to CAUSE serious ill health – sheep dip farmers are known to have been injured and killed, but officially were not legally ‘poisoned’. OP’s were withdrawn from sale but are still in jet engine oil as anti – wear agents.
D. Governments and industry generate bogus research data to create doubt and protect industry from countless personal injury claims – both farmers and flyers. “More research…” is the favoured mantra and ‘Kick Aerotoxic into the long grass’.
E. The concentrations of organophosphates in identified toxic chemicals in visible toxic oil fumes in passenger jets have never been published. Meanwhile scientists, doctors and politicians are told that concentrations are ‘low’ and not any sort of a risk to human health…
F. There are no safe levels of exposure of organophosphates for young passengers – inappropriate 1940’s worker exposure standards are quoted.
G. Aerotoxic can injury any human on a single fume event flight, but more normally it affects frequent flyers, over time.
H. The only means of detecting organophosphates from a faulty bleed air system in a modern jet airliner is by aircrew’s sense of sight and smell; tobacco smoke detectors are only located in the toilets.
I. Aircrew and passengers cannot physically be poisoned in a ‘bleedless’ Boeing 787 Dreamliner jet, whilst Airbus continue to claim that ‘Aerotoxic is absurd’.
J. Human exposure to toxic oil fumes in ‘bleed air’ jet airliners is caused by a six decade old fundamental, known and accepted engineering design flaw.
K. Governments and airlines claim there is ‘no evidence’ of any ill health from human exposure to oil fumes in the confined space of jet airliners yet public High Court evidence proves the opposite. Turner V East West airlines 2010.
L. Basic health and safety states that:
- The precautionary principle that Toxic Air Detectors (TAD’s) should be fitted to all modern jet airliners.
- 100% proof is unnecessary for a known public health risk; only 51% & Precautionary Principle normally applies.
- Human health is claimed to be paramount whereas the well-being of the airline industry is the priority in aerotoxic.
M. The aerotoxic issue has parallels with the tobacco scandal – VW emissions, Saville cover up & international athletic doping.
N. Who knew what and when? MP’s have known about Aerotoxic as ALL MP’s, Lords & Ladies received DVD Welcome aboard Toxic Airlines in 2008.
O. Aerotoxic is a cover-up and greater than the poisoning, by definition.
P. The written testimony of professional aircrew and passengers has never once been tested in a public UK Court and has been ignored by parliament since 2007.
Q. Professional aircrew have been gagged and paid off on aerotoxic since the 1960’s.

R. Industry scientists and so called ‘doctors’ invited to personally experience a deliberate visible oil ‘fume event’ on the ground – laugh nervously at the offer and refuse to be exposed. ANY flight (apart from B 787) can become a ‘fume event’ flight.
S. Many claim that Aerotoxic is ‘too big’ to solve yet the natural competitive edge of the airline industry will eventually guarantee that known solutions are introduced by aircrew Unions – the Germans being first?
T. Most ten year old’s could work out aerotoxic – given the correct evidence. A public inquiry is essential as bravely called for by the Conservative Party in 2008.
U. The media have been severely restricted in their reporting of aerotoxic but UK ITV reported the Coroner’s inquests into the death of BA pilot Richard Westgate 12 months ago.
V. A German documentary ‘The Truth of Aerotoxic Syndrome’ was shown in Berlin in July 2015 & UK in January 2016 – unreported in the main media.
W. Aircrew have known for years of the exact cause of what nearly killed them – but are gagged and unable to warn others of the simple danger.
X General Secretary Jim McAuslan of BALPA the UK union identified Aerotoxic as a major cause of ill health in 2005. Media – contact Mr McAuslan for an explanation – 10 years on.
Y. University College London warned in 2006 that 192,000 UK passengers a year would be visiting their GP’s with acute OP poisoning
