Captain Tristan Loraine of the Global Cabin Air Quality Executive (www.gcaqe.org) asked John Leahy – Chief Operating Officer – Customers – Airbus Group at an Airbus press conference at the Farnborough air show –
“If any future Airbus aircraft would be built ‘Bleed Free’ like the Boeing 787?”
Mr Leahy stated that Airbus aircraft had no contaminated air problem and the issue was absurd.
Following Captain Loraine’s question, here is a more direct proposal:
Aircrew and airline passengers are regularly exposed to toxic oil fume events in so called ‘modern’ jet airliners – but what if those who claim that there is zero danger to health were deliberately exposed to the same visible oil fumes on the ground (Passenger Airliner Fume Event Test) to help convince them and others that toxic oil fumes in passenger airliners may be dangerous?
Airline CEO’s and others must personally decide whether toxic oil fumes are – toxic?
Airline CEOs, scientists, doctors, politicians and lawyers – this is your unique opportunity to demonstrate your personal faith of industry research over the past six decades by doing the P.A.F.E. Test.
You will have the opportunity to counter the inconvenient independent research and evidence which irritatingly keeps reporting that exposure to oil smoke in a confined space is exactly the same or even worse than tobacco smoke i.e. lethal.
London Evening Standard: Oil spill on British Airways London to Newcastle flight ‘left cabin crew ill and unable to work’
Who should be in support?
- Aircrew who are kept ignorant about the truth of their working environment
- Grounded professional aircrew whose sworn testimonies are ignored
- Pregnant passengers who know that embryos depend upon clean air
- Children who rely on their elders for protection
- Politicians who claim that health is paramount
- Lawyers who demand ever higher medical proof of exposure
- Media who need a ‘new’ angle on an almost prehistoric health scandal
- Doctors who can finally diagnose and treat the actual cause of ill health – saving costs and reducing harm to their customers.
What might be the outcome of such a novel trial?
The enlightenment of various ‘experts’ of the reality of an in flight visible fume event, which can happen on any flight and last for hours. But as there are no Toxic Air Detectors (TADs) on board (apart from the Mark 1 human eyeballs and nose) fume events on passenger airliners are only formally reported to regulators when they are really, really bad.
In theory, competition within the airline industry normally ensures that one airline seizes the advantage over another and brings in long overdue solutions which are just waiting to be introduced, but this can only happen when ordinary passengers understand the fundamental cause of their mysterious ill health and executives fully appreciate their duty of care.
Media who continue to describe toxic fumes events as ‘unknown and harmless’ should also report the outcome of this practical test which may confirm the cause of industrial levels of ill health in innocent human beings and is presently accepted as a way of life and death.
Any experiment is only as good as its reality and certain doubting doctors and politicians have already been invited to do the P.A.F.E. Test, however all responses to date have been:
‘No thanks!’ accompanied by nervous laughter…
What could it be that is stopping them? After all, officially toxic oil fumes are not dangerous.
So if you are fed up with being poisoned on jet airliners – make sure these key individuals take the P.A.F.E. Test to confirm their opinions that toxic oil fumes are absolutely safe and that the solution of TADs is a figment of professional pilots imaginations.
Can you think of a fellow human being who has a duty to take the Passenger Airliner Fume Event (P.A.F.E.) Test?
