In the course of filming, the authors have taken on all flights air and wipe samples taken and analyzed at the University of British Columbia in Canada. The question was: how dangerous these substances for passengers and crews?
Lufthansa also acknowledges the meantime cabin air incidents on their flagship, the Airbus A380. Investigations revealed: more than 120 incidents in the past 2 years, but only a fraction has been reported to the authorities.
For each flight passenger a nightmare: in the cabin air of passenger aircraft, the engines can reach toxic substances that do not belong there. Hazardous residues of lubricants, which propagate in the cabin and be inhaled by the occupants.
In their documentation, the authors describe clearly that this problem the aircraft manufacturers, airlines and governments is indeed a very long time known, but they covered up for years or not serious have taken. Solutions if there were, they are not implemented.
The film shows what serious damage to health pilots, flight attendants and passengers have suffered for so-called ‘Fume Events’ and how they are left alone. During their months of research, the authors themselves are traveling by plane, take samples and have them investigate in a reputed research institute. The result: a neurotoxin in the plane – a threat, not only for frequent flyers.
